Austria
During the Summer of 2004, we spent a week in the lakes area of Austria. It was a wonderfully relaxing holiday and we would highly recommend the whole area.
We stayed in a small town called Obertraun, which is near the town of Hallstatt, famous for its salt mines. The mountains around the lakes are riddled with caves and one day we did a tour through enormous dry caves and the most amazing ice cave. During winter, the mountains are used for skiing, but in summer, while we were there activities range from paragliding to boating to hiking to general sightseeing.
